Built by a repair shop
Not a software company. A guy who fixes computers for a living.
I'm Mike. I've fixed computers for about 35 years. I've run PCRescue in Portland, Maine, since 2002.
Most of what I fix on the bench, I fix with tools that already come with Windows. They are buried six menus deep, or they need a command prompt. Most people don't know they exist.
Meanwhile the ads tell those same people to scan their PC for free, find 4,812 errors, and pay $39.99 a year to fix them. I clean up after those programs every week.
So I built the Kit. It puts the real tools behind a button. It shows you the command before it runs. It tells you when something can't be fixed. It costs $49, once.
What I won't do
- Invent problems to sell you a fix.
- Charge you every year.
- Collect your data. The Kit has no telemetry and never calls home.
- Promise your old computer will run like new.
The company
The Kit is published by PCRescue Labs LLC, a Maine company. The installer is code-signed in that name, so you can check it came from me.
